Commitment (with like clause) to Joan de Bohun, countess of Hereford, Gerard Braybrok and William Marny, knights, Thomas Feryby, clerk, Roger Haldenby, clerk, and John Bray of Felstede, by mainprise of Robert Rigdon, Thomas Kays, Thomas Petteworth and John Dagenet of the county of Essex, of the keeping of all the lands late of Richard Torell, esquire, of the said county, who held of the king in chief on the day of his death ; to hold the same from the time of Richard's death until the lawful age of Thomas his son and heir, together with the marriage of the heir, and so from heir to heir until one of them shall have attained full age, rendering for the keeping and marriage aforesaid as much as may be agreed upon between them and the treasurer, and finding fit sustenance for the heir.
