Whereas on 15 May 50 Edward III the king in pursuance of an inquisition taken by his then escheator in the county of Warwick, showing that Edward Boteler, clerk, on the day of his death held no lands in the said county in his demesne as of fee or in service of the king in chief, but held in his demesne as of fee a mill and 8/. 11s. 4d. of rent in Wylie by knight service of the heir of John late earl of Pembroke, a minor in the king's ward, and that Walter de Cokeseye, chivaler, son of Hugh de Cokeseye and Denise, late his wife, sister of the said Edward, Margaret daughter of William [Trussell of] Odyham and Ida, late his wife, Edward's second sister, Nicholas the son of Nicholas the son of Nicholas de Langeford and Alice, late his wife, Edward's third sister, and Joan daughter of John the son of John the son of John Straunge of Blakemere and Ankaret, late his wife, Edward's fourth sister, were the kinsfolk and next heirs of Edward, Joan being a minor and the others of full age, ordered the escheator to take the fealties of Walter, Margaret and Nicholas grandson of Nicholas, made a partition of the mill and rent into four equal parts and cause the said Walter, Margaret and Nicholas grandson of Nicholas to have full seisin of their respective pourparties, retaining Joan's pourparty in the king's hand until further order ; and since by an inquisition taken before Guy Spyney, escheator, by order of Richard IJ, at the suit of Ankaret late the wife of . 159 Talbot, chivaler, it has been ascertained that the daughter John the son of John son of John Straunge of Blakemere, the of Ankaret, Edward's fourth sister, though called Joan in the inquisition, was named Elizabeth and not Joan, that her retained in the hands of Edward III, was held of heir of John late earl of Pembroke by knight service, and Ankaret late the wife of Richard Talbot, chivaler, the sister of John, Elizabeth's father, is Elizabeth's kinsand next heir (Elizabeth having died a minor in the of Richard II), and of full age ; the king now orders his in the county of Warwick to take the fealty of Thomas Nevyll, chivaler, who has married the said Ankaret, and cause him and his wife to have full seisin of the said pourparty.
