Notification to Roger de Wolfreton, escheator in the counties of Norfolk, Suffolk and Hertford, that the king, with the assent of Walter de Mauny and Margaret, his wife, daughter and one of the heirs of Thomas, late earl of Norfolk, and of William de Ufford, who has taken to wife Joan, daughter and heir of Alice late the wife of Edward de Monte Acuto, the other daughter and heir of the earl, and to whom the king has committed the wardship of the lands of Joan's pourparty which are in his hand by reason of her minority, has assigned to Walter and Margaret, as Margaret's pourparty of the lands which Mary late the earl's wife held in dower and for life of the inheritance of Margaret and Joan, the castle and manor of Strugoil and the town of Shepestowe, with their members, hamlets and other appurtenances in the march of Wales, the manor of Weston, co. Hertford, the manors of Stonham and Walton and a moiety of the manor of Kenet, co. Suffolk, and the other moiety of the manor of Kenet, co. Cambridge, and to the said William and Joan, as Joan's pourparty of the said lands, the castle of Framelyngham and the manors of Framelyngham, Soham, Hoo, Holislee, Donyngworth and Cratefeld, co. Suffolk, and the manors of Halvergate and Suthwalsham, co. Norfolk, with a moiety of two parts of four pieces of marsh and pasture in Halvergate containing 980 acres, which Joan late the wife of Robert de Morlee held for life of the grant of the said earl, with reversion to the earl's . 219 (which moiety was assigned after the death of the said life-tenant said Walter and Margaret as the latter's pourparty, and has been by them, into the king's hands for delivery to the said and Joan, because Margaret's pourparty exceeds Joan's by that amount); and order to him to deliver to Walter Margaret as much of Margaret's pourparty as lies in his bailiwick, king has taken Walter's fealty and respited until Michaelmas the homage due from him by reason of his having offspring by ; and to retain Joan's pourparty in the king's hand until order.
