of the late commitment to John Coroner and Annora, wife, of the wardship of a moiety of the manor of Calverleye, co. which came into the king's hand by the death of John de and by reason of the minority of John, son of Ella, his sister, who is his kinsman and one of his heirs; as the king has learned that the said commitment was made in contravention of the statute lately published at Westminster, because the said Annora is aunt and heir of the said John son of Ella, and the moiety must descend to her if he should die without heir of his body : and commitment of the said wardship to Gilbert le Despenser, father of the said John son of Ella, to whom the inheritance cannot descend, to hold until the lawful age of his said son, together with the issues since the death of John de Calverleye, rendering 30s. yearly at the Exchequer by equal portions at Easter and Michaelmas, and doing the real services and other charges due therefrom to the king and others.
