Commitment to Thomas Payne, by mainprise of Richard Marchall of Shene, co. Surrey, gentilman, and Thomas Lyrbek of Chelrey, co. Buckingham [recte Berks], gentilman, of the keeping of 5 messuages, a carucate of land and 100 acres of pasture in Westfyrneham, co. Southampton, two-thirds of the manor of Ocle, and two-thirds of a third part of the manor of Modeford Terry, co. Somerset, late of Walter Romsey, who held of the king in chief on the day of his death, which came to the king's hands by the death of the said Walter and by reason of the minority of Walter his son and heir, likewise deceased, and which are still in the king's hands by reason of the minority of Joan the kinswoman and heir of Walter the son; to hold the same from Easter last until the full age of the said heir, rendering yearly for the keeping the extent thereof, or as much as may be agreed upon between him and the treasurer by Michaelmas next; with clause touching maintenance of houses, enclosures and buildings, and support of charges.
