Order to the escheator in the county of Southampton ; pursuant to an inquisition made by him showing that Edmund Mareschal held the manor of Wodecote, co. Southampton, on the day of his death in his demesne as of fee of the king in chief by service of keeping the king's gaol of Winchester ; and that Joan the daughter of the said Edmund is his next heir, and of full age ; to cause John Frampton, who has now taken the said Joan to wife, and the said Joan to have full seisin of the said . 227 as the king has taken John's fealty, and for 6s. 8d. paid the hanaper has respited until the Purification next the homage from him by reason of his having issue by Joan.
