Commitment to John Harpur, by mainprise of Edmund Moris of the county of Hereford and Simon Hadyngton, of the keeping of the manor of Arneley, alias Arley, co. Stafford, which 1281, p. 145] to one Letard de Henyn, his yeoman, and the heirs of his body, with reversion to the said late king and his heirs, and which is in the king's hands because the said Letard died without heir of his body ; to hold the same from Pentecost last for 20 years, rendering yearly for the keeping the 12I. 15s. 10d. at which the said manor was extended. before Robert Whitgreve, escheator, and an increment of 10s. 10d., at Michaelmas and Easter equally ; maintaining houses, enclosures and buildings, supporting all other charges incumbent on the manor ; always that if any other person shall be willing without to give more by way of increment for the said keeping, the said John is bound to pay such larger sum, if he will the keeping.
