Order to the escheator in the county of Somerset ; pursuant (1) to an inquisition taken before him showing that William . 41 Gascoigne on the day of his death held in his demesne as of fee 6 messuages, 200 acres of land, 6 acres of meadow, and 3 acres of wood in Exton of the heir of Richard de Plessetis, knight, by service of a rose payable at Midsummer; 10 messuages and 4 tofts in Briggewater of Edmund earl of March, Richard earl of Warwick and the heir of the lord de le Zouche; a messuage, 5 acres of land and one acre of meadow in Cosyngton of the heir of Robert Brent, knight ; a messuage, 4 acres of land and one acre of meadow in Compton Donden of John Milborn the younger by service of ld. payable yearly at Michaelmas for all services ; a messuage, 26 acres of land and 7 acres of meadow in Chelton of John Hugyn and Thomas Michell; 3 messuages, a toft, 20 acres of land and 4 acres of meadow in Hunspull of the heir of Fulk Fitz Wareyn, by service of a root of ginger payable yearly at Michaelmas for all services; 6 acres of land and 3 acres of meadow in Bradeney of Henry Horsy the younger; 10 acres of land and 26 acres of meadow in Wemedon of Thomas Michell ; 3 messuages, 12 acres of land and 4 acres of meadow in Swynedon of the heir of John Tryvet, knight; and 24 acres of land, one acre of meadow, 2 acres of moor and a third part of a water-mill in Westboure of the heir of Richard Seymour ; and that Thomas Gascoigne, brother of the said William, is William's next heir and of full age ; and (2) to another inquisition taken before him showing that the said William on the day of his death held the said 6 messuages, 200 acres of land, 6 acres of meadow and 3 acres of wood in Exton of William Wroth, esquire, the kinsman and heir of the said Richard de Plessetis, who is of full age and not in the king's ward, by service of a rose payable yearly at Midsummer for all services ; the 10 messuages and 4 tofts in Briggewater of the said earls and of the heir of the lord de la Zouche, a minor in the king's ward, by service of 12d. payable yearly by equal portions at Midsummer, Michaelmas, Christmas and Easter for all services ; the messuage, 5 acres of land and one acre of meadow in Cosyngton of John Tretheke and Joan his wife, the sister and heir of the said Robert Brent, as in right of the said Joan, who is of full age and not in the king's ward, by knight service ; the 3 messuages, 12 acres of land and 4 acres of meadow in Swynedon of John Trevet the kinsman and heir of the said John Trevet, knight, who is of full age and not in the king's ward, by knight service ; and the 24 acres of land, one acre of meadow, 2 acres of moor and the third part of a water-mill in Westboure of the heir of the said Richard Seymour, a minor in the king's ward, by service of a pound of cummin, payable yearly at Michaelmas, for all services ; to take the fealty of Thomas Gascoigne and cause him to have full seisin of the said lands in Briggewater and Westboure which are held of the said heirs who are in the king's ward ;. removing the king's hand from the rest of the premises which are held of others than the said heirs,
