To Robert de Clere. Although the king lately appointed John de Sharde- John de la Rokele and John de Berneye to be justices to take inquisition the oath of lawful men of cos. Norfolk and Suffolk of the names of merand others who took good English money of sterling out of the realm parts beyond and brought from those parts other feeble counterfeit money the sterling, and of those who take to parts beyond the sea wool-fells coketted, customed or weighed or badly weighed, and victuals, armour other necessaries to the succour of the king's enemies, and who buy wool below the price lately ordained at Notyngham, contrary the ordinances, proclamations and prohibitions made by the king and council, and to do other things contained in the letters patent, and on 6 March last the king associated Robert to do the premises with those justices, yet for certain causes the king orders Robert not intermeddle further with the premises, surrendering the said commission chancery to be cancelled.
