To the same. Order to supersede the demand made on Master de Byntesworth, bishop of London, for 6s. 8d. yearly from we (sic) 20 February last, as on 21 February in the 9th year of the the king granted Peter, archbishop of Rouen, licence to enfeoff Richard with the manor of Bynteworth with the advowson of church there, which are held in chief in frank almoin, as it was by inquisition taken by Robert Selyman, then eacheator in cos. Wilts, Oxford, Berks, Bedford and Buckingham, to hold the service of rendering 6s. 8d. yearly by the hands of the sheriff Southampton, and on 9 July following the king gave the archbishop to enfeoff William de Melton, archbishop of York, with that for the said service. Whereas the king lately caused the priory of to be taken into his hands as an alien priory, and committed custody thereof to brother Andrew, the prior, for rendering a certain ferm yearly, and now the king has learned that. William, son of Nicholas Wychard of Tackele, after the priory was taken, arramed an assize of disseisin against the prior concerning certain tenements in Tackele, which are in the king's hands, the king therefore orders the justices so to proceed in that affair that he may suffer no harm.
