To the sheriff of York. Order to release Thomas le Waite and Agnes, his wife, from prison in York castle by a certain mainprise, as the king appointed Ralph de Hastynges, Brian de Thornhull, Richard de Burton and Adam de Hopton to arrest Thomas and Agnes and others suspect of felonies, and to imprison them in that castle, according to agreement made in the parliament at Westminster, and Thomas and Agnes were taken and imprisoned, and William de la Pole, the Nicholas de Oterbourn, Robert de Styveton and John de Goldesburgh of that county, have mainperned before the king in chancery to Thomas and Agnes before the king, his council or justices to stand right concerning the things with which they are charged, to do and what shall there be decided, and to behave well in the mean- By C.
