To the treasurer and chamberlains. Order to pay to Robert de Ufford, earl of Suffolk, 1267. 13s. 4d. for Easter term next, as the king lately granted to him the name and dignity of earl of Suffolk, and granted to him, among other things, to maintain that dignity, 2531. 63. 8d., to be received yearly at the exchequer, for the earl and the heirs male of his body, to wit, 1337. 6s. 8d., until the manor of Benhale, which Eleanor, late the wife of Guy Ferre, holds for life, the reversion whereof the king granted to the earl and the said heirs male of his body, and the remaining 120/. until provision should be made for him and his said heirs of 120. of land or rent yearly. By K. and the whole council in parliament. And afterwards, on 25 July following, the king gave to the earl the manor of Dedham, co. Lssex, of the value of 20 marks yearly, in part satisfaction of 1201., which the king granted to the earl to be received from the exchequer as aforesaid.
