To the treasurer and the barons of the exchequer. Writ of supersedeas, with assent of the council and of the prelates and lords in this parliament, upon the petition of the prior and convent of the abbey of St. Augustine Canterbury, in respect of their demand upon the petitioners for the moiety of a tenth and fifteenth granted to the king by the commons in the parliament last holden at Westminster payable upon the temporalities of the abbey, which are in the king's hand by the death of the last abbot, and order to discharge them and the collectors thereof; as in consideration of the great farm which they are bound to render for the said temporalities in this vacancy, that the abbey is of the foundation of former kings and of his patronage, and that it is burdened with debt, the king, with the assent aforesaid, has pardoned them the said moiety. . 615
