To the justices of the Bench. Order to proceed with what speed they may, so that they proceed not to rendering of judgment without advising the king, with a jury of twenty four knights arraigned by Philip Wroth to convict the jurors of an inquisition in a cause between Thomas son of John son of John Aubrey and the said Philip to shew cause wherefore, by the form of a fine levied in the king's court in 11 Edward II, a fourth part of the manor of Great Cowerne ought not to remain to the said Thomas, after the decease of Sibyl who was wife of Walter Baskerville, John Walewayn and John Aubrey and Alice his daughter, notwithstanding an allegation made by Robert brother of the said Thomas, being now tenant thereof, that after the death of Thomas by reason of the nonage of the said Robert his brother and heir the same was seized into the king's hand, for that it is held of Mary one of the daughters and heirs of Humphrey de Bohun earl of Hereford as of the honour of Braghnok, and that by name of a fourth part of the manor of Cowerne it is in the wardship of Roger Parker of Ledbury by commission of the king, by reason of which allegation the justices have deferred to proceed.
