the sheriff of Oxford and Berkshire for the time being. Order issues of those counties to pay to Edmund Giffard the arrears a day from 3 January last, and henceforward to pay him that sum during his life according to the king's letters patent, taking acquittance for every payment; as on that date the king of his granted the said Edmund for good service 6d. a day by the of the sheriff for his wages for life or until other order be for his estate. erat patens.
