the sheriff of Dorset. Order, upon the petition of Richard and John Hawe of Pudeletrentehide, to stay the exigents against and the taking of their bodies by mainprise of John Pulter, de Lavynton and John Gerveyse of Winchester, bringing this before the justices of the Bench the day the writ of exigents is ; as their petition shews that John de Drayton is impleadbefore the said justices for that they contrary to the ordinance to their service and retained William Smyth of Franc lately at Pudele Hynton in the service of the said John de Drayton, without reasonable cause and licence of the said John de Drayton from his service before the end of the term agreed, and that their knowledge, as they aver, they are put in exigents in Dorset outlawed for that the sheriff has returned before the said justices Anerror, See Return of Members of Parliament, i. p. 180. E 31 that they were not found in his bailiwick, though they are and always were ready to answer the said John de Drayton in that plea, and to stand to right in all things, praying for remedy; and the said John Pulter, Richard de Lavyngton and John Gerveyse, appearing in person in chancery, have mainperned under a pain of 20/. to have the said Richard Clerc and John Hawe before the said justices on the aforesaid day.
