To the sheriff of Hertford. Order to cause a market at the king's town of Hertford to be proclaimed and held during Thursday in every week, instead of the market on Wednesday which heretofore used to be held there by the king's son John duke of Lancastre of the king's grant. By K. . . Writing of Nicholas eldest son of Sir James Daudeleye lord of Heleye and Elizabeth his wife, being a receipt to the said Sir James for 1,300 marks paid in the church of St. Botulf near Aldrychgate, in full of 3,600 marks which he was before the council adjudged to pay them, whereof 2,300 marks was already paid. Dated London, the church aforesaid, 27 January 42 Edward III. French.
