To the treasurer and the barons of the exchequer. Order, upon petition of Amaury fitz Waryn late sheriff of Devon, to discharge of 20/. whereof he was by them amerced ; as his petition shews a day was given him to account at the exchequer for the issues the county at the octaves of St. Hilary last, and though before date the account was for reasonable causes postponed to the of the close of Easter last, and the said Amaury [appointed] attorney to be there at the octaves aforesaid and take the said day, that his attorney appeared on those days before the treasurer barons, and that he might by the said attorney be excused, who deceived him and came not at the days named, by his dofault treasurer and barons amerced Amaury as aforesaid, and caused to be taken, and his lands to be seized into the king's hand, for that came not at the days aforesaid nor at two other days to him given that behalf, wherefore he has prayed for remedy; and in conof the premises the king, out of compassion for his estate, pardoned him the said 201.
