Order to dearrest the of Florent de Borcelen knight, abiding in foreign parts in the service, which he has arrested in the port of Kyngeston upon for the king's use, and to suffer Grant William, yeoman and of Florent, by himself or others, to take 140 quarters of and 160 quarters of oats in a ship called la Godwhile of in Seland to Florent in foreign parts for maintenance himself and his men there with him in the king's service, any or mandate to Ralph addressed to the contrary notupon the petition of Grant William, shewing that he purveyed 300 quarters of wheat and oats in Yorkshire for the of Florent, and put 140 quarters of wheat in the said ship for purpose aforesaid, and these have been arrested by the said William de Strothre to Queen Philippa. Recognisance for 401., be levied, in default of payment, of his lands and chattels in To Walter de Kelby. Whereas the king lately by letters patent aphim to arrest all and all sorts of corn of merchants and malt in the ports of Grymesby and Barton and elsewhere, as well in the Humbre as on the sea coast in those parts, in whatsoever ships might be, sparing none, and to safe keep the same until further also to certify the king of all particulars and of his action ; Walter has certified in chancery (inter alia) that he has arrested Grymesby 60 quarters of wheat of Ralph de Utterby of Grymesby in a ship of John de Seland, price 6s. a quarter, 60 quarters malt of Ralph and his fellows, price 5s. a quarter, 20 quarters of of Ralph and his fellows, price 2s. 6d. a quarter, and 20 quarters wheat of John de Seland, price 6s. a quarter, and has delivered the for safe keeping to Peter de Halsham mayor of Grymesby, 34. EDWARD III. 95 Nevill and Walter Whyte bailiffs, and to the commonalty town; because Ralph, appearing before the council, has that the corn aforesaid is by long detention and frequent much damaged and unsuitable to be kept for the king's offering for himself and John to cause it to be brought to Lenn Yarmouth or to the city of London there to be exposed fo1 for the common weal, craving licence so to do, and an order to the same lest it be wholly wasted: order, for sure affecting the arrest shewn before the council, and for that has there sworn to take the corn to the places above named to no other, to dearrest the same, and to suffer Ralph to carry the said ship to either of the places named for sale, first taking for his bringing into chancery letters of the mayor and of London, the mayor and bailiffs of Lenn or of the bailiffs Yarmouth testifying to the discharge thereof within one after such discharge, and certifying the king in chancery of security so taken. By C. like to Peter de Halsham mayor of Grymesby, Gilbert Nevill Walter Whyte bailiffs of that town, with order, if Walter shall the dearrest, or by reason of his attention to other business be found in those parts, to dearrest the corn in their keeping, permit Ralph to deal with it as aforesaid, first taking security and certifying the same, as in the foregoing order.
