the sheriff of Norfolk. Order to supersede the taking of James de and of Katherine his wife by a mainprise, as John Brake of is impleading them for a trespass which they are alleged to upon him, and because the sheriff returned that they had in that bailiwick whereby they might be attached, the king ordered by writ de judicio to take them, and they have petitioned the order the taking to be superseded by a mainprise, as they are ready to right in all things, and to answer John for the trespass, and Grene of Stanford, John Clere of Shipdham and John de Lougham of that county have mainperned in chancery to have them the king on the day when the said writ is returnable, to answer John trespass under a pain of 20/., which they have acknowledged shall of their lands and chattels for John's use if they do not have and Katherine as aforesaid.
