prior of St. Mary's church, Merton, acknowledges for himself convent that they owe to William de Wodehalle 120/. ; to be levied, of payment, of their lands and chattels and ecclesiastical goods on payment. of indenture testifying that whereas William prior of St. church, Merton, is bound to William de Wodchalle in 1201. by the recognisance, to be paid 40/. at Midsummer next, 40/. at the feast following and 40/. at the same feast following that, and whereas prior and conyent are bound to the said William by their deed in 1201., to be paid at the said terms, William grants that if the prior pay him the said sums at the said terms in St. Paul's church, London, then the aforesaid bond and recognisance shall be null and void. Dated at Mertone, 15 July, 25 Edward III.
