Order to pay to bishop of Coventry and Lichfield what is in arrear to him of a rent from the time of Adam's death, and to pay him that rent so long as Adam's lands are in the king's hand, and if all the have not yet been taken into the king's hand, to cause them to be and kept until further order, so that he answer for the issues in the king's chamber, as the king has learned by inquisition taken de Shareshull and Hugh de Aston, in the presence of Richard supplying Thomas's place, that Adam at his death held the lands of the said bishop as of the right of his church of St. Chad, within the bishop's manor of Eccleshale, to wit: 2 messuages third part of 9 virgates of land in Offeleye Episcopi, by the service of part of a knight's fee and of making suit at the bishop's court every three weeks, and by the service of finding a third part ploughing with two ploughs in the bishop's demesne lands of that for four days in each year, to wit, two days in the time of winter and two days in the time of the lenten sowing, at their own costs the day of each entire plough is worth 4d. and by the service of at their own charges a third part of the costs for eight men for the chace at his park of Blore for three days in each year, and for eight men to reap the bishop's corn in his manor for three days in the and that the day for each of the eight men for the chace is d. and the day for each of the eight men to reap is worth 14d. ;
