Westmorland, restoring anything received thereof to the Heppe, as the king has learned by inquisition taken by the that Robert son of John de Veteri Ponte, sometime lord of long before the publication of the statute of mortmain, charter to the abbot and convent of Heppe the said rent, to wit: de Hollebek and his heirs, 2 marks for lands which he held of Askom ; of Robert de la Fierte and his heirs, 1 mark which he in the same town, and of Eustace de Lamal and his heirs, which he owed for lands held of Robert in Milneburn, for the of a canon of the said convent to celebrate divine service daily for the departed, saving to Robert and his heirs the homages, suits of court and all other services which the said tenants to him beyond the said rent, and that all the abbots and of that place have been seised of the rent from the time of the Hugh de Moriceby, late escheator in that county, pretending de Clifford, tenant in chief, had died seised of the rent, when took it into the king's hand, where it still remains owing to the of Robert's heir. de Moriceby, late escheator in co.
