To the collectors of the petty custom in the port of London, Order to pay to Henry de Lancastr[ia earl of Derby, or his attorney, all the issues of that custom up to the sum of 445 marks 9s. 7d. which he ought to receive a . Parr 1. 49 issues of that custom for Easter term last, asin creating him an earl granted to him 1,000 marks to be received yearly of the customs, in the port of London 400 marks, in the port of Boston 800 marks in the port of Kyngeston upon Hull 300 marks, for the life of Henry of Lancaster, his father, and afterwards the king granted to the said of Derby the manor of Wyghton and the hundred of Northgreneho, co. and the manor of Laghton in Morthyng, co. York, which Ralph, of Ku, an alien, lately held, and which the king caused to be taken his hand, to the value of 72I. 7s. 64d. yearly, in part satisfaction of the 1,000 marks, and in consideration of the earl's service and because he divers letters of the grant of 1,000 marks to chancery to be the king, desiring to provide for the security of the earl, that he obtain payment of the remaining 891 marks 5s. 93d. beyond the of the said manors and hundreds, granted on 20 September in the year of the reign, that he should receive all the issues of the petty in the city of London yearly from Michaelmas then following, for of his said father, notwithstanding any order to the contrary, and if those issues did not attain to the said sum he should be satisfied deficiency of the money arising from the great custom in the port but that if the money of the petty custom exceeded that sum answer for the surplus at the exchequer by the hands of the of the petty custom.
