Norfolk. on payment, acknowledyed by John de Wyngefeld and Robert de general attorneys of the said earl of Salisbury, before Robert Parvyng, of release by Thomas de Houton, son of John de Houton, of Aukelond, diocese of Durham, to Richard Lacer, citizen of London, his wife, of all his right and claim in all those lands, with gardens and all other appurtenances which the said Richard and lately held of the gift and enfeofiment of the said Sir John in the and fields of Westgrenewiz, Rotherhethe, Depeford and Pecktham. Dated at on Monday after Michaelmas 15 Edward III. of release by Thomas de Houton son of Sir John de Houton, of Aukelond church, to Richard Lacer, citizen of London, of all his and claim in all those lands with all their appurtenances which lately held of the gift and enfeofiment of the said Sir John, in the of the churches of St. Mary Magdalene at Old Fish-street and of atte Wodewarf, London, lying together between the lane of St. Peter the east, and a common lane of St. Benet towards the west, the in the north and the tenement which belonged to Alice Poterel and of William de Carleton, formerly of Henry atte Swan, towards Andrew Aubrey, mayor of London, Richard de Berkyngg, and Rokele, sheriffs, Walter Neel, alderman of the ward. Witnesses: de Ware, William de Carleton, John de Gloucestr[ia], Simon de John de Denham, John Siward, John Tornegold, Richard de William de Fulsham. [Dated as above.] that Thomas came into chancery at Westminster on after Michaelmas and acknowledged the preceding deeds. of indenture made at Westminster on 3 October in the 15th of the reign between Sir William de Mountagu, earl of Salisbury of part, and Sir Robert Dufford, earl of Suffolk, and Sir Robert Dufford of the other part, testifying that whereas the said Sir Robert and are bound to Sir William in 6,000/. by a recognisance made in on the day aforesaid, to be paid at the Purification in the second following, Sir William grants that if they pay to him at London 1,000/. next, in sterlings or in florins; namely in florins del escu of of fine gold at 8s. 91d. each or in florins of Florence of good weight fine gold at 8s. each, at their choice, and 1,000/. at Midsummer in the same manner, and 1,000/. at Christmas following also in manner, then the said recognisance shall be void, but otherwise it remain in force. Dated as aforesaid. French. that William de Monte Acuto and the said Robert and came into chancery at Westminster and acknowledged the preceding
