Somerset, Devon and Cornwall on 11 October, in the 14th year of the reign of a writ directed to him in the following form: Know that of lands which belonged to Theobald Russel, tenant in chief, we have to Eleanor his wife a third part of the manor of Horsyngton, Somerset, a third part of the manor of Kyngeston, co. Dorset, and a part of the manor of Athelyngton, co. Dorset, to hold in dower, and order you to take her oath that she will not marry without our and deliver the said parts to her in the presence of Ralph Russel, son and heir, etc. dated at Andevere on 18 September in the year, received the said oath and assigned to Eleanor the following to hold in dower, in the presence of John Lymyng, Richard de William Hillary, Walter Beril, John Lambrok, Oliver Michel and to wit: of the manor of Horsyngton, co. Somerset, a certain high towards the east with an upper chamber over it, kitchen, and cowshed towards the door; also a third part of a new towards the south, the moiety of a new grange, a third part of a towards the south, a third part of a curtilage there, a third part of a and all the garden called Estorchard, with free access; also acres of arable land in the south field, to wit: in two upper parcels on south of the garden 624 acres; in a parcel called Cheteforlang 27 in a parcel called le Sarte near the high way on the north 174 and 107 acres in the north field, to wit: in three parcels on north of the town of Horsyngton 70 acres; and on the north of the of Chiriton in two pieces 15 acres, and in a plot called Gothull on west of the highway 22 acres; also 32 acres of meadow, to wit: in mede on the west, 10 acres; in Brademede, 16 acres; and in Tournhamhill, 6 acres ; also 87 acres of fallow, land in la Roghecrofte near the wood of Hatherlegh, to wit: in la Roghcrofte, 80 acres and in Thebaldescrofte 7 acres. Also a third part of all the pasture in Horwode oxeneclese and all other parcels in the common of pasture and other pasture there. Also 148 acres of wood in Hatherlegh on the south. Also 7s. 6d. yearly rent to be received of the prior of Brynton, the lord of Stawell, Walter Waleys, William Hillari, Henry le Clerk, Robert Hanham, Roger Kdmond, John le Heyward of Wyncaulton and John le Maszon of Chiriton, each of whom holds in fee. Also 47s. 11d. yearly rent, to wit: of John Hughelet 10s., of William de Cherleton 10s., of John le Tailour 6s. 4d., of Agnes Folice 2s. 9d., of William Code 2s. 6d., of William Drye 4d., of Kdward Godynche 2s. and of John le Veal 12s. Also a rent of a pound of cinnamon issuing from the tenement of Henry le Barbour. Also the rents and services of John Maynnard, bondman, with his issue, who holds a virgate of land in bondage. Also the rents and services of John atte Alre, John Mariote, Roger Maynnard, Cristina Hughelot, John Hughelot, Henry Parmonter and Edward le Shephurde, bondmen, with their issue, each of whom holds a messuage and half a virgate of land in bondage. Also the rents and services of Thomas le Smyth, Matilda Parmonter, William le Hurde, John Jaket, John Raul and William Crede, bondmen, with their issue, each of whom holds a quarter of a virgate of land in bondage. Also a third part of pleas and perquisites of court there and a third part of all the profi tof free capitagium. Also of the manor of Kyngeston, co. Dorset, there is assigned to her a high chamber towards the chapel with a room above it, dayerie, larder and stable near the chamber and a third part of the porch with all the grange, which is thrown down and a third part of la Grave on the west and all the dovecote which is nearest. Also a new curtilage called Colverhey and a third part of a water mill, and a third part of all the hill land and pasture; a third part of the house of the sheepfold on the west. Also 423 acres 1 rood of arable land in the east field to wit: in Langforlang, 12 acres; in Whatecome 15 acres 1 rood ; in Stikelond 53 acres and near la Shephouse 10 acres. Also 31 acres of arable land in the south field, to wit: upon the hill, 12 acres; at Brokhurdesburgh in Emmeforlong, 10 acres; in Wogheland 3 acres; in Louslond 6 acres. Also 33 acres of arable land in the west field, to wit: in Westmosteforlang 17 acres and in la Westbreche 6 acres. Also 163 acres of meadow, to wit: in la Westmede in the close of 7 acres; in Langforlang 8 acres 1 rood; in Folmore 4 acres 1 rood and in Melkwell on the west next the spring, 2 acres. Also 53 acres of fallow land in la Leyeeroft anda third part of la Oxenelese upon the hill about la Shephouse, and a third part of all the common pasture in the demesnes of the said town. Also 3s. 6d. yearly rent and a third part of 22 pounds of pepper to be received of the tenements of Adam Pymor, James Russel with reliefs, scutage, ward and marriage when they fall in and a third part of the rents and services of the tenement of John Blike. Also the rents and services of John le Vyne and three parts of the rents and services of Hawisia Cockes. Also the rents and services of John Galon, Henry Rabon, John Hoyvill, Thomas Courtehose and John Blaunche, each of whom holds his tenements in bondage. Also the rents and services of William Frobus, Richard Frobus, Henry le Vyne, William Abbot, John Priour and Robert Hickes of capitagium. Also a third part of the pleas and perquisites of court. Also of the manor of Hathelyngton, co. Dorset, all the houses open to the west of the great hall as far as the great grange towards the south with a close called Colverhey and a garden on the west of the great hall. Somerset, Devon-and Cornwall on 1 November in the 18th year of the reign, of the king's writ directing him to take the oath of Matilda, late of Nicholas le Walish of Podynton, tenant-in-chief, that she would without the king's licence, and to assign down to her, informing of what he had done in this matter, the writ being dated at on 25 October in that year, took her oath and assigned to her tenements to hold in dower in the presence of Simon de Roches, de Lodehywish, William Seintcler of Ashebrutel, Richard de John de Barton and others, to wit: 11s. 103d. yearly rent from a free tenement in Athelardeston, co. Somerset ; also a third part of parts of a messuage in Hiwischchaunflour in co. Somerset and 84 acres of arable land there; and 4 acre 1 roods of meadow there; a third of fallow land there; a third part of a water mill there ; also two free and a third part of two parts of a free tenant there who renders yearly; a customary and a third part of a customary with his works who renders 5s. 52d. yearly ; a cottar with his rent and service there; part of a chief garth there; a third part of two parts of pleas and of court there; two parts of a chief messuage with a curtilage in co. Dorset, and 134 acres of arable land there; 14 acres of there, a third part of a certain separable pasture there; a third of two cottars there; also 10 acres of arable land at Westchykerel, and 4 acre of meadow there and a third part of a separable there; also a third part of two cottars there and a third part of two of pleas and perquisites of court there. of grant by Nicholas de la Beche to Henry de Pusye, son and of Sir Richard de Pusye, knight, and to Richard, Henry's son, and to heirs, of 4 crofts of arable land in Colregg, in the parish of called 'T'ropeneliscroftes, and they le together in the demesne of Henry, and the fourth croft lies near the land of Nicholas de la Hawe on the south and the land of Henry on the north, and is called Annotecroft, and lies in the same demesne.
