To the sheriff of Kent. Whereas a truce is concluded between the king and Philip de Valoys by John, king of Bohemia and count of Luxembourg, Adulph bishop of Liége, Raoul, duke of Lorraine, Eymes count of Savoy and John count of Armagnac on the one part and the dukes of Brabant and Guelders, the marquis of Juliers and Sir John de Hannfonia) lord of Beaumont of the other part, to last until Midsummer next and the following day until sunset, and it is agreed that both parties and their allies shall go from one country to another during the truce and all merchants with their merchandise and all other persons as freely as in the time of the king's predecessors, except those who have been banished, for any cause but the war; and the barons of Gascony and of the duchy of Guienne are . Parr 2. 637 in the truce as well as the Spaniards, Catalans, Genoese, the bishop and chapter of Cambray, the castles in Caumbresis all the Caumbresin as well as the lord de la Bret, the Vicomte of Gaston del Isle and the lord of Tyenbon, Sir John de Veurvy and lord of Reye; and as the truce is proclaimed in France, Almain, Flanders and elsewhere, the king wishes this to be done in and orders the sheriff to cause proclamation of the premises to be in sea ports and elsewhere in that bailiwick, and to keep the said and to see that nothing is attempted contrary to it.
