the treasurer, or to him who supplies his place, and to the barons of Whereas Theobald de Verdun was with the king by his in the army of Wales, in the tenth year of his reign, for the service knights fees for a moiety of the inheritance that belonged to Walter and of 23 knights fees for Theobald's land in the Marches, and the service of one knight's fee for his land in England, which he then acknowledged to the king, as appears by inspection of the the marshalsea for the same army : the king orders them to acquit of the scutage exacted from him by summons of the exchequer said knights fees in the aforesaid army. : 2K
