Order to deliver the manor of Welcomestowe, which was taken into the king's hands by reason of the death of Ralph de Thony, to him to whom Ralph demised it, as Ralph, before he went to Gascony in the king's service, demised the manor, which is held of the king in chief, for a certain term without obtaining the king's licence, and the king, in consideration of the laudable service rendered to him in Gascony by Ralph, and because he died in his service there, accepts the demise in question. . 433
