To the same. Order to cause Robert le Eyv, bailiff of Wodestok, to be acquitted of 100s. exacted from him for the escape of William son of Walter le Caucer, as the king learns by the testimony of trustworthy witnesses that Robert caused William to be beheaded as a public malefactor fleeing and not permitting himself to be justiced according to the law and custom of the realm, wherefore the king pardoned Robert the suit of his peace for the death aforesaid by his letters patent.
