To the sheriff of Cumberland. Order to deliver Alan de Raby, imprisoned at Carlisle for the death of Alexander de Beriery, wherewith he is charged, in bail to twelve men who shall mainpern to have him before the justices at the first assize to stand to right if any one wish to speak against him, as the king learns by inquisition taken by the sheriff that Alan slew Alexander in self-defence and not by felony or of malice aforethought. To Master Henry de Bray, escheator this side Trent.
