him who supplies the place of the treasurer and to the barons of the Whereas the king, on 8 November, in the twenty-eighth year reign, committed to William de Curzoun of Carleton, co. Norfolk, letters patent under the exchequer seal, the manors of Causton, and Hauboys and the Hundreds of Northerpingham and in that county, from Michaelmas following during rendering therefor to the exchequer 190/. yearly; and the afterwards, on 14 February, in the twenty-ninth year of his ordered William to deliver to the heirs of Bartholomew de a messuage, 180 acres of land, 20 acres of meadow and and 5s. yearly of rent in the town of Houboys, because he learnt inquisition taken by John Buteturte and William Haward that Bucskyn, Robert atte Stone, and Simon de Roston, late bailiffs of Eleanor, the king's late consort, had wilfully ejected Bartholomew the said lands, which he had recovered before John de Lovetot and de Tany, the king's late justices appointed to take assizes in co. against Robert Baynard by a recognition of an assize of novel disseisin taken between them at Aylesham, and that the bailiffs had appropriated the lands to the said queen's use: the king orders them to discharge William of the portion of the said ferm due for the said lands from the said 14 February, if they satisfy themselves that the lands were part of the manor of Hauboys and that they have been delivered to the heirs of Bartholomew by William.
