To the treasurer and barons of the exchequer, and to the chamber- Jains. Order to account with William de Shaldeford for the days spent by him in the king's service in the following particulars, if they find that a similar order was made in favour of John de Percebrigge, and to cause similar wages to be paid to him, for every day that he was in that service, as on 13 May, in the fifth year of the reign, the king appointed William and John to hear and determine the accounts of all receivers, bailiffs, provosts and_other ministers who were bound to render accounts for the issues of the castles and lands which belonged to Roger de Mortuo Mari, earl of March, and to Roger de Mortuo Mari, of Chirk, both in England and Wales, and which were in the king's hands by the earl's forfeiture, and to charge the said receivers and others with all the issues received by them, and to make acquittance and all other things pertaining to the final account; and on 23 July following, the king appointed them by other letters patent, to levy all the money due to the king, by the earl's forfeiture, both of debts due to the earl and the arrears of accounts rendered before them and to give acquittances therefor, and to supervise the sale of all the goods and chattels which belonged to William de Okele, in co. Salop, and to charge Richard de Dulvern of Lodelawe, then the king's receiver in all the earl's said lands with the receipt of that i money, by indenture made between them, so that he should answer therefor at the exchequer; and on 24 July following, by other letters patent, the king appointed John de Hynkele, and the said William and John, to take to Westminster, at the king's cost, the earl's treasure, t jewels, armour, and all his goods and chattels in the king's hand by his forfeiture, taken by certain lieges at Lodelawe, and Wyggemore castle, and delivered there by indenture to the said John de Hynkele, who was then sheriff of Salop and Stafford; and lately at the suit of John de Percebrigg, beseeching the king to order account to be made with him .- Parr IIT. 577 Membrane 7 his wages in the premises, and the sums received by him for the said and justice to be done for the discharge of himself and Richard, 27/. 8s. of the money in Robert's custody were delivered to him upon wages and 66s. 8d. for the carriage of the said treasure and goods the town and castle aforesaid, to the Tower of London, by Rickard, the treasurer, barons and chamberlains have charged Richard in account, with the said 34/7. 14s. 8d.; the king ordered them to with John as aforesaid, allowing him 3s. 4d. a day for his wages the time when he was in the said service, and the sums which should find him to have paid for the said carriage, and to discharge and John of what they found to be due to John for his wages for what he paid of the 347. 14s. 8d. for the carriage, and to pay what they found to be due to him beyond the said sum, as is contained in the writ directed to the treasurer, barons and chamand which is said to be in the exchequer; and William has besought the king to order such payment to be made to him his wages for the time when he travailed upon the premises, as the ordered to be allowed to John.
