Order to restore the jgsues of the lands which Lora late the wife of Thomas de Novo Mercato tue elder, knight, held, uniess she held any lands of the king as of the crown by knight's service, as on its being found by inquisition taken by Simon de Grymesby, formerly escheator in the liberty of Holdernesse, that Lora held no lands in chief as of the crown, at her death, in that bailiwick, but that she held in her demesne as of fee a fourth IIi. Parr III. 655i part of the manor of Thorngumbaud in chief, as of the honour of Albemarle by the service of the 96th part of a knight's fee and a toft, a bovate of land and 20 acres of meadow in Oteryngham and Paulbo m by fealty and the service of 7d. yearly of the king as of the said honour, and lands of other lords by divers services; and Yavid de Fletewyk is her next heir and of full age; and on 15 December last the king took his homage for the said lands, and ordered them to be delivered to him, and although it is found by inquisition taken by the escheator that Lora held no lands at her death in chief in that bailiwick, but that she heid lands of other lords by divers services, so that the issues thereof ought not to pertain to the king, yet the escheator detains those issues received from her death until the 15th day, and has delayed to deliver them to David.
