Memorandum that Thomas came into chancery at St. Edmund's on June and acknowledged the preceding deed. Enrolment of indenture made between the king and William de la testifying that whereas the king has enfeoffed William of the and towns of Whetele and Gryngele, co. Nottingham, and Petite, Humbre, Burton Pidse, Outhorn, Withorn, Skeftlyng, Esyngton and Preston, co. York, which latter are members the manor of Brustwyk, and the manors and towns of Kayngham, Leldyk, Elstonwyk, Sprotle, Hedon, Paulesflet and also members of that manor, to hold for a term of ten and the king has appointed the bishop of Chester, Robert de archdeacon of Richemund, the treasurer, Master William la dean of York, the prior of Wartre and Sir Robert de Sadyngton certify in chancery the value of the manors and towns, knights fees advowsons, and the reasonable value of the woods growing there, William grants that what is certified by these as the said value will pay within 15 days for each 100/. of land, 3,000/., and he also that after the certification of the value of the manors and towns Kayngham, Bondebrustwyk, Leldyk, Elstonwyk, Sprotle, Hedon, and Ravensere, he will pay the kine within 15 days for each of land, 2507. The king grants that if the manors and towns of Gryngele, Cleton Petit, Humbre, Burton Pidse, Outhorn, Skeftelyng Kylnese, Esyngton and Preston do not amount in to 500/. yearly, then the king is bound to supply William with is lacking of that amount in a convenient place, or to restore a sum of money. It is to be understood that of the 6,000/. William will thus pay, 5,000/. are for the 500/. of land granted fee, and 1,000/. is the first instalment of payment for the fees, adwoods and lands leased for a term of ten years as aforesaid. at Lopham on 8 June, 12 Edward III.
