Order to supersede the taking of Robert de Thorp, knight, and William his son, by certain mainprises, as although the king appointed them to take Robert and William and Thomas Gentil, suspect of divers misdeeds and trespasses, and take them to the Tower of London, to stay in prison there, until further orders, yet the king has now been fully informed of the good report of Robert and William, and Hasculphus de Whitewell of co. Rutland, William de Thorp of co. Northampton, William de Leycestr[ia] of co. Leicester, Richard de Birten of co. York, Walter de Wylyngham of co. Middlesex, and John Parles of co. Essex, have mainperned before the king and his council to have Robert; and John de Stouford of co. Devon, Richard de Kelleshull of co. Essex, Henry Power of co. Somerset, William de Elmedon of co. York, and the said Hasculphus, George de Longevill of co. Northampton, and Richard de Glatton of co. Cambridge, have mainperned to have William before the king and his council or the justices, to stand to rnght upon the misdeeds of which they are appealed and to receive what shall be determined, and that they will behave well.
