To John de Stafford. Order to supersede the taking of Humphrey Hastyng, suspect of felonies and misdeeds, by a certain mainprise, the king appointed John to take Humphrey, and take him to the of London to be imprisoned there, according to the ordinance lately made in parliament at Westminster; and John Broun, and Richard de Crakmerssh have mainperned in chancery, to have Humphrey before the king and his council or the justices, to stand to right concerning the felonies, trespasses and excesses with which he shall be indicted or charged, and to receive what shall then be determined, and that he will behave well, By K, 25.
