Order to deliver to Joan, late the wife of Alexander de Frivill, kinswoman and co-heir of. Philip Marmion, tenant in chief of Edward I., the advowson of the prebend in the collegiate church of Thomorth, which Roger Persone now holds, as her purparty of that inheritance, saving the rights of Henry Hillary and Joan, his wife, kinswoman and co-heir of Philip, as the late king, on 28 May in the 10th year of his reign, assigned the following advowsons of Philip, which Mary, his wife, held in dower, and which by her death and at the suit of the heirs and parcences of Philip's inheritance, were taken into that king's hands: to wit to Ralph le Botiller, kinsman and co-heir of Philip, the advowson of a prebend in the said church, which Simon de Wykford then held, extended at 4/. yearly, as his purparty, and ordered master John Walewyn, then escheator this side Trent, to deliver the advowson to Roger, and lately at the suit of Joan, wife of Alexander, beseeching the king to cause her purparty to be assigned and delivered to her, the king gave her a day for this, to wit the octaves of Martinmas last, and ordered the escheator to make known to Ralph, Henry and Joan, his wife, that they should be in chancery there to show cause why her purparty should not be assigned to Joan, and for Henry and Joan to receive their purparty; and the escheator returned that he had done this, and that Henry and Joan, his wife, did not come on that day, and that Joan, wife of Alexander, appearing by Robert Russell, her attorney, sought her purparty, and the king, . Parr II. 237 wishing to do justice to her, assigned the said advowson to her, with Ralph's assent, who appeared by Adam de Derleton, his attorney, which advowson is extended at 100s. yearly.
