Order to be at Westminster before the king at St. James the Apostle next, to inform them upon and to treat thereupon. By K. of a Peer, ix. p. 477.] to eighty others. [Zbid.] to Thomas de Brendon of Bodmin, to be at Westminster on feast of St. Peter ad Vincula. [Jbid.] of Wenlok. Order, under pain of forfeiture, to cause or other men of that town to be before the king and his St. James the Apostle next, to treat with them as aforesaid. By K. to the bailiffs of Coventre and Chichester. [Zbid.] and bailiffs of Bristol. Like order for the mayor and or men of that town to be at Westminster on the said By K. to the mayor and bailiffs of Gloucester, Leicester, and [Jbid.] Gyle puts in his place Francis Lapy of Florence, to prosecute of a recognisance for 164/., made to him in chancery by Austorgius, prior of Lenton, and of another recognisance for 607. made to him in chancery by brother John, prior of Newenham. 21. Roger de Bavent, knight, acknowledges that he owes to Augustin le Waleys of Woxebrigg, 200/.; to be levied, in default of payment, of his lands and chattels in co. Sussex. Enrolment of renunciation made in the year 1337, indiction 5, 11 June, by Simon de Monte Acuto, bishop of Ely, translated from Worcester by the pope's permission, in the presence of his public notary, of all words prejudicial to the king and the right of his crown contained in the pope's letters upon the said translation, acknowledging that he receives the temporalities of the see from the king alone, which done the bishop swore fealty to the king in the accustomed manner. Dated as aforesaid at Blokeley, diocese of Worcester, in the presence of Master Robert de Worth, John de Clipeston and Henry Petlyng, public notary, hcusehold clerks of the bishop. John de Thoresby, clerk of Lincoln diocese, notary public by apostolic authority, was present while the premises were performed, saw and heard everything, and drew up the deed and sealed with his accustomed seal. 23. John de Aschemersbrok, the king's huntsman, who has faithfully served him, is sent to the abbot and convent of Crouland to receive such maintenance as Master Peter le Saucer had there at the late king's request. By p.s. [10097.] 24. Ralph de Restwold acknowledges that he owes to Maurice de Berkele, knight, 667. 13s. 4d.; to be levied, in default of payment, of his lands and chattels in co. Oxford.
