To the sheriff of Wilts. Order to supersede the exigents and outagainst Robert Martyn, of Jevelton, Walter de Spekyngton, and Rely by a mainprise, as they are indicted before William de and his fellows, justices of oyer and terminer in that county, they had snatched John de Croucheston, a prisoner, by force the custody of Thomas Gerberd, who took him by the king's order, for other felonies committed in that county, and because they did come before the justices to answer for the premises, they are placed exigent in that county to be outlawed; and because it is testified the king that the indictment is notoriously made by malice, he William to send the indictment to him three weeks from Easter, that justice might be done, and Robert, Walter, and Roger have mainpernors before the king in chancery, to wit: Philip Crouk, de Sancto Nicholao of co. Southampton, John de Rymton, of co. Robert de Brideport, of co. Dorset, Henry atte Hoke, of co. and William de Thorp, of co. Lincoln, who have undertaken have them before the king on the said day to do and receive what his shall decide in the premises. By K.
