Schedule of the matters of the said award; and the king is bound by his coronation oath to do right to all his subjects, and to redress wrongs done to them and to cause them to be amended when he is required to do so, and it is contained in the said Magna Carta that the king shall not deny or delay right or justice to any one, and also weighing the counsel and the request of the said prelates to the king for the health of his soul and to eschew peril, and also at the request of the said earls, and in order to avoid the evil example for the future of such emprises and judgments being made in like case against reason to the blemishment of the king's crown and the great damage of others; the king therefore, having viewed the process and award and knowing that they are to his prejudice and to the blemishment of his crown and of his royal dignity, against him and his heirs and against the said Hugh and Hugh, and by many other reasonable causes, does, of his royal power, in full parliament at York, annul the said award, and does reverse the exile and disinheritance of the said Hugh and Hugh, and so far as this award extends, and does admit and reconcile fully the said Hugh and Hugh to his faith and peace and to the estate they were in before the said award in all points, and does award that they shall have again seisin of their lands, goods, and chattels. And he wills and orders that what is enrolled of the said award in the places of his court shall be cancelled and annulled for ever. French. A transcript of the above judgment was sent sub pede sigilli to the justices of the Bench, the treasurer and barons of the exchequer, and to Henry le Scrop and his fellows, justices to hold pleas before the king, together with the following writ: : To the justices of the Bench.
