To the sheriffs of London. Order to restore to John Foleye 3562. 6s. 4d. in money arrested upon him, Walter and William Bodolo of St. Omer in execution of the king's order to arrest goods of the men and merchants of the king of France, issued at the suit of John Priour and other merchants of the city of London, which moneys are said to belong to William Bodoio, as William de Hanstede, keeper of the king's exchanges of London and Canterbury, and Lapinus Rogeri, master of the mint, and Roger de Frowyk, exchanger (camsor) of the money in the aforesaid exchanges, have testified before the king and his council that John Foleye brought silver in mass to the exchange of London, and there received the said 356/. 6s. 4d. for the same, which was to be paid to certain merchants of this realm for their goods sold in parts beyond sea.
