Letters patent witnessing that the king has received, by the hands of Master John Walewayov, treasurer, and of the chamberlains of the exchequer, 20 marks from J. bishop of Lincoln, in the name of pope John XXII., in part payment in the city and diocese of Lincoln of the first year of the tenth for six years imposed upon the clergy by pope Clement V. in the council of Vienne, collected before this time by the bishop by the hands of the abbot and convent of Oseneye: which sum the king binds himself to repay to the pope within five years - from the fourth kalend of April, in the 10th year of his reign.
