Memorandum of acknowledgment, 9 May. Nicholas de Haute knight and Edmund de Haute to William Elys of Canterbury, his heirs'and assigns. Charter indented with warranty of all lands which the grantors have in the parish of Northynton, rendering 41. 3s. 4d. a year to them and their heirs, power being reserved to distrain for arrears there and in all other lands of the said William in Kent, to distrain for double the arrears if the rent be forty days in arrear, and to enter again and hold the premises in their first estate if the same be one quarter in arrear, distraining nevertheless in all the lands of the said William. Dated Northynton, 2 March 8 Richard II. Witnesses: Thomas Carwynton of Welle, Roger Frankham, Aymer Hegham, William Petit, John Isaakes, Clement Clerke, Richard Warde.
