To the bailiffs of the town of St. Botolph. Writ of swpersedeas in favour of John Stenehous merchant of Northberhen, Nicholas Stobbelewe, Albert Grote and Henry Sparke of the fellowship of merchants of the Hanse of Almain, lately ordered by divers writs to be arrested at petition of merchants of the Hanse and kept in custody until they should find mainpernors to appear in person within a set time before William de Walworth alderman of their court in the Gilhalle of the Teutons in the city of London, and there stand to right for that, after his summons to appear there in a cause before him, they withdrew from the city, taking no heed to obey his command, in contempt of the court and breach of the liberties granted to the said merchants . Parr II. 287 the king's forefathers, as the alderman then witnessed ; and order dearrest and set free any of them arrested or imprisoned for that ; as the merchants of the Hanse, at whose instance those writs have witnessed that the said John and Nicholas appeared the alderman and offered to stand to right touching the premises, mainperning for the said Albert and Henry that they shall before him within a reasonable time, and shall submit themto the court.
