To the sheriff of Berkshire. Order, upon petition of John atte and John Smyth, by mainprise of William atte Westende, atte Merssh, Richard Ladde and William Herry to deliver their cattle taken to withernam by virtue of the king's writ conthe replevin of cattle of Nicholas abbot of Waltham Holy by them taken and unlawfully withheld ; as the sheriff returned he might not replevy the same for that he repaired to the place they were impounded but might have no view of them, wherefore king ordered him to take cattle of the said John and John as ; and their petition shews that they took the abbot's cattle money due to the king by reason of the fifteenth and moiety of a last granted to the king, and that a plea is pending thereupon the justices at Westminster. Quitclaim of all the lands of Henry Darcy in the town of Estgrenewich and the hamlets Combe and Cherlton co.
