To the sheriff of York. Writ of swpersedeas, by mainprise of Peter son of Peter de Nuthill knight, Stephen de Herlethorp, William Neweport of Garton and Robert de Garton of Garton on the Wold of Yorkshire, in favour of John Mounceux of Berneston, Joan his wife, John his son and Roger Mounceux at suit of Thomas atte Crosse of Berneston averring threats. Geoffrey de Lucy knight to Richard Wattes of Dalyngton and Roese his wife and to the heirs of their bodies. Charter indented with warranty of the tenement, lands etc. in Dalyngton sometime held by Gregory Benett and Alice his wife for their lives by demise of the said Geoffrey, rendering to him and his heirs 6s. 8d. a year; and covenant for further security that, if the grantor, his heirs etc. shall cause hurt or hindrance to the grantees, or shall thrust them out of the premises, it shall be lawful for the king to enter and take the profit of his manors of Wodecroft and Gledele co.
