To the sheriff of Essex. Writ de intendendo, directing him during the nonage of Eleanor one of the daughters and heirs of Humphrey de Bohun last earl of Hereford and Essex to pay to Thomas de Wodestoke the king's uncle 40/. 10s. 10d. a year, and the arrears since 17 July last ; as on 3 April in the 48th year of his reign the late king granted to the said Thomas, until the lawful age of the said Eleanor whom he has taken to wife, the said yearly fee which King Edward II granted to Humphrey de Bohun then earl of Hereford and Essex (grandfather of the last earl) and Elizabeth late countess of Holand his wife, and to the heirs of the body of the said Humphrey the grandfather, and which was of the last earl and is in the king's hand by his death and by reason of the nonage of his heirs; and on 17 July last the king confirmed the late king's grant.
