Order, if by inquisition or otherwise that all the lands of the abbot of in Burwedene, Ravenesholt, Burgh, Nuns Swapham, Bryn- Dullyngham, Wylburgham and Lynton to spiritualities annexed the diocese of Ely were by him lately given in fee to William and Nicholas Westerdale, all his lands in Cantebrigge to said William and John Payn, and all his lands in Gamelengeye a tenth used to be given with the clergy were likewise given William Fogheler of Gamelengeye, and that from that time until he has had no lands there, and now has none, to stay their upon him for 2s. Id. for lands in Burwedene, 12s. 1d. lands in Ravenesholte, 14s. 03d. for lands in Burgh, 18s. 43d. lands in Swapham, 2s. 6d. for lands in Brynkele, 3s. 93d. for in Dullyngham, 14s. 8d. for lands in Wylburgham, 2s. for in Lynton, 2s. for lands in Cantebrigge and 23d. for lands in for every grant of tenths to the king since such gift by made, thereof discharging him, and cancelling the said sums the exchequer rolls of the taxation of temporalities and spirituof the clergy; as his complaint shews that, although all his lands were so aliened, and although the said William and Nicholas charters gave the lands in Ravenesholte in fee to John atte Wode, those in Burwedene, Burgh, Swapham, Brynkele and Dullyngham Robert Knechebole and John Kent of Thaxstede, those in Wylto John Smyth of Wylburgham, and those in Lynton to atte More of Balsham, so that from that time the abbot has no lands there, for every such grant of tenths the treasurer and barons have charged him with the sums above mentioned, and commanding that he be distrained for the same, for that in the rolls it is found that his temporalities in Burwedene are assessed 20s. 10d., in Ravenesholt at 6/. 12d., in Burgh at 7/. 6d., in at 9/. 4s., in Brynkele at 25s., in Dullyngham at 38s., Wylburgham at 7/. 6s. 8d., in Lynton at 20s., in Cantebrigge 20s., and in Gamelengeye at 2s. 1d., the tenths whereof amount the sums above mentioned respectively. Proviso that answer be by the tenants of the said lands according to their holdings for and subsidies whatsoever hereafter granted to the king by the of the realm.
