To the sheriffs of London. Order by mainprise of John Cossier seryvenere, John de Yorke cordewaner, John Norman skynnere __ and Ralph Berdevyle taillour, all of London, to set free Joan Tapstere, imprisoned in Neugate prison at suit of the king and Clement Kyrton for leaving the said Clement s service before the term agreed. Richard de Sutton knight and Ralph Aynell parson of Little Ocle co. Essex to Thomas Bydeforde, his heirs and assigns. Charter indented with warranty of the manors of Pelham Furneux and Thedrisham co. Hertford with the advowsons of chantries thereto belonging, a villein called William Palfreyman otherwise William Hilp and all that goes with him excepted, in exchange for all lands, marshes etc. in Est Tillebury, Mokkynge, Fobbynge and Coryngham sometime of Thomas de Bedeforde or Thomas Gobioun knight with the advowsonsof chantries thereto belonging, under a condition that during the life of the said Richard the said Thomas shall render to them 36l. a year . 469 said Richard's manor of Little Ocle, that it shall be lawful for enter again and hold the said manors and advowsons in their if the rent be in arrear, this charter and the seisin thereupon subject to a proviso that if this be not done in Richard's life time it shall not thereafter be lawful, and that no payment shall be made save at Little Ocle. Dated Pelham 18 November 11 Richard II. of acknowledgment by the said Richard and Thomas in chancery at Westminster 22 February, and by the said at Great Oclee 14 March before John Plays knight, by virtue potestatem which is on the file for this year.
